Freemans started its mail order business in 1905 in Clapham - a gas-lit, London suburb. Back then, cigarettes were 10 for tuppence and a "Celebrated Freemans made-to-measure suit", cost less than 30/- That's £1.10 to us! The founders of the Company were: A.C. Rampton, W.E. Jones, S.C. Rampton and H.A. Freeman.
