The firms, which offer home shopping through catalogues and 'agents', have seen their sales and profits decline sharply. Retail analysts Verdict Research blame the changing social structure of the country for the drop in revenue. Catalogue shopping - or agency mail order - once saw people, usually women, sell merchandise to a circle of family, friends and acquaintances.
